US House of Representatives
House Recording Studio

The House Recording Studio, located in the Rayburn Building adjacent to the U.S. Capitol building, produces switched multi-cam feeds of House of Representatives committee meetings, which are broadcast throughout Capitol Hill.  Mobile Studios won the contract for the design and construction of three custom portable live SD/HD production systems for the HRS including the live production switching and control consoles, fiber interfaces and robotic camera systems. Visitors to Rayburn Hall can watch these systems in daily operation near the entrances of House Committee rooms during proceedings.

The PortaCast® Mobile Studio systems will be used by the House Recording Studio to help broadcast up to 1,000 hearings per year and up to 50 hours per day in combined usage.

With the Superbowl down in Miami this year, Mobile Studios had the unique opportunity to work with Sprint to webcast their annual Phone-A-Friend event with NY Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew and TV commentator / Ex Giants line-backer Michael Strahan. In addition to providing the camera, CG and recording equipment, we also unveiled our new IP satellite uplink system installed in "Flypack 1" our Ford Expedition demo vehicle.
